Re: New Dog Owner

You could use an indoor lead to keep him away when your cooking, I don't mind mine around me as we have been teaching him how to behave in the kitchen and he knows he is not allowed to go near the oven etc.

You could use a indoor lead to teach him how to just sit or lie down while your cooking.

Proberly best if its something you cover with your trainer when you get one

Also with any noise correcting things you should only use them for one thing at a time i.e. barking or soiling in the house. It can make it easier for the dog to understand and make sure you are using a word with the action to correct, i.e. barking say "no bark" firmly then good boy when he stops all happy and exicted. for keeping him away from cooking try using a firm "away" when you shake the bottle

He needs to learn to words so you can move away from using the bottle.
