When getting a puppy you are in effect choosing a campanion for the next 15 plus years.

It can be hard selecting the right kind of temperament in a dog not only to suit your current situation but also circumstances which may arise in the future (the arrival of children, getting additional animals etc)

When I got a pup it transpired that his nature wasn't the best to have around children and we had to rehome him. It broke my heart
