So sorry for your loss of Barney.
Hope happy memories of Barney will soon replace the sadness that you are going through at the moment.
Like you say he will soon be back with you and you can put him in a special place.
I did the same to one of ours. When i got her back from being cremated i didn't no where to put her so for a week i put her in her bed. Now she's in her special place and i still say hello to her every day. Sounds silly to some i know, but like you say it's a way of coping.
