Aww he's lovely!! look at his right ear

It's very VERY rewarding to rescue a dog but they all come with their problems.. learned behaviour from their previous life!! these are the hardest to overcome as they learned them as puppies

They can relearn though, even though the same problem will raise its head at times of high excitement or stress.
Re the food. You need to be strong. Don't get taken in by those eyes

It's a big fat no no. Does he know the command for lie down? Train him how to lie down with doggy treats, then whilst you eat, ask him to lie down. Be warned, if he doesn't listen the first time, you can't let it go... so you may have to concentrate on him until he does it. He may get up again in a few seconds, so try it again with a Stay! Also, completely ignore him once you are eating apart from the command. What's yours is NOT his... and he'll soon learn

very very early days, so you'll have to do this SOOOOO many times
He'll have a very quick and active mind, so giving him a job to do will be fantastic. He'll learn commands very quickly too. Get him to a local obediance class and then see where his talents lie. COuld be agility for example
Good luck. He looks gorgeous and he'll give you many years of fun!!!
