I am trying to keep him still and calm as the vet stated but he's not having any of it.

He's a bit clumsy on his feet still after the sedation but he was straight to his food bowl demanding service as soon as he was through the front door.

He's looking at me now as if to ask "Why aren't we going out?" but I can't explain to him that a) he's still too drunk and b) I don't have a harness (the collar rubs on his wounds) until tomorrow. He does it every so often but then gets back to business chewing his pig's ear. I thought it was a good substitute for the grapes you usually get when you're ill, although I am sure he doesn't care about his injuries.

He'll be out again tomorrow along the canal and river banks as though nothing has happened.
