I dont think dh.dti is trying to say that you are fully to blame, just that even if her dogs were on leads and yours ran over to be friendly and say hello the other persons dog could of still grabbed yours by the throat and flung it to the floor, In a perfect world all the friendly dogs would be bouncing around fields sniffing other dogs and greeting perfectly but in this world, we cant even trust each other never mind what dog is going to behave like what. I personally think that due to the amount of morons owning dogs and training them to be aggressive, for the safety of our own pets, it would do us a favour to keep them on the lead, I know its a shame and i do feel sorry for you having to go through what you did, but unfortunatly if both sets of dogs were on leads neither would have got to the other until a quick greet was exchanged by owners.
