basically I just wanted confirmation as to when a stud fee should be paid

thank you all for your input... like I said.. it's the first time that we've entered into this, but next time.. I will draw up a stud contract and seek out more advice. but everyone has to start somewhere don't they??

Thanks guys x
Everyone does have to start somewhere but Not like this,If I were the Breeder of the bitch I would be furious,if this breeder has an affix/kennel name and any pups end up going thrugh rescue it's her reputation on the line through ignorance of the owner of the dog,not to mention all her time and effort put into breeding good examples of the breed, the bitch was endorsed probably with good reason, this should have been explained and written out and under what terms the endorsement would have been lifted.

I forgot to add to my other post owners of the stud dog usually offer a free first mating until the dog is proven.
Can I ask if any of these pups need rehoming would you be able to help,or have them living with you if the breeder can't take them back, till a suitable home is found?
