the excerpt + link are Drs Foster + Smith sales-catalog, which includes scattered (often lousy) behavioral advice. Foster + Smith still sell SHOCK collars, as a matter of fact they RECOMMENDED their use on their (thankfully short-lived) TV-show, which was thinly disguised sales promo;

they did not *sponsor* the show; they designed, scripted, + starred on camera in the show; it was a weekly on Animal-Planet, and blessedly it died in a few months. R-I-P,
