My theory so far (not that there's any way of proving it!) is that the Romans brought over cats other than tabby, but why they would select those is another matter. Or perhaps one needs to knwo what the propoirtion of tabby cats is in Italy?

This is fun - or perhaps I'm just a sad old git?

I'm not sure how to go basic enough for you Kelly, sorry - but you can ask me questions by all means and I'll try to answer.

Well i personally don't need to know-my oh has that side of things pretty much coveredBut there are a lot of newbie breeders and the like who would be glad of any info on this side of things-coz if they don't know the basic colors/genes etc and how you get what with what-how is anyone supposed to understand what your posting in the first place-which you can see is apparent(not everyone) so if you started with the basics ie-dominant colors-what they are, dilute colors etc then other people could learn stuff and be better equipped-but thanks Liz-if i do-i will-coz you seem to know your stuff or your great at copying and pastingLol-but i think you'd be ideal for educating any of us who don't have smartasspartners like your goodself or my oh and it's a matter you clearly like to share with others,if they get the basics, they will be able to ask and understand relevant questions and answers Hope you do-would be a great topic and think we'd all gain
