I bought a pair of dog nail clippers for £2.50. They're like the ones that the manicurists use when they trim acrylic nails (if you know what I mean). Meadow has black furry paws and black nails so it was a bit scary at first but now we're both used to it
Also, if you do want to do it yourself, ask you vet to show you how to do it rather than letting them do it for you. If they're gonna charge you, you might as well get a free lesson in the mix.
