Old Cat - Take her for checkup or not?
Hi All
I have an elderly cat and when I moved house she didnt take it very well and had a stroke.
I found her laying in a pool of urine with her tongue hanging out and she was panting really quickly.
Also one of her eyes was a tiny slit and the other was normal (it was very wierd).
She has been fine ever since and the vet advised me not to bring her in unless the condition got worse because it would stress her out too much.
This was a year ago and it has not happened since.
Recently she started losing her hair and has gone really skinny. But I spoke to a vet who told me to use frontline on her as it was prob a reaction to the fleas - this did work and she no longer has this problem and the fur is growing back.
She also has blood in her poo and it absolutely stinks. But she has had blood in her poo for at least 2 years and has been fine. She is not constipated and is wormed frequently.
She is happy in herself and doesnt appear to be in any form of stress or pain but I wonder if I should still take her for a checkup.
Its really hard to decide because it will really stress her out and im worried that she will have another stroke or something. She will also wee and poo herself when in the carrier.
What do you think?
