Mercury levels in tuna are not a big concern if it is fed as a treat or part of balanced diet, but tuna does not provide the necessary level of vitamins, sodium or calcium to be fed as a complete meal or as a primary ingredient in meals.

Served as a treat tuna in brine or springwater is fine but serving as a significant part of a cats diet is not a good idea.
