Ouch!

So, not a brilliant day today.

I took my TB young horse out today for a hack, as the weather was lovely. Although he was a bit lively, he was a pretty good boy and things were going fine until we on the way home riding around a corner and a group of teenage lads were coming around the same corner in their pimped out car, only at about eighty miles an hour.

Poor Razz took one look at the car, heard the thumping music and the squeel of the brakes and freaked out. I just about managed to stop him from bolting by turning him sharply towards the hedge, but he them paniced at being restricted and went vertically upwards, lost his balance and landed on the road. Thankfully, I was thrown clear and he wasn't able to get away as he was winded and shocked by the whole episode.

The upshot is that my poor pony and I are both broken. Thankfully the hoss only has superficial grazes but is very stiff and will need some seeing to by our chiropractor (typically, it's taken nine months to get him right and as soon as he is it all goes to pot again)

I've broken my arm - the last thing I needed with exams looming, but thankfully it's my non-writing hand! - but am also very sore with attractive bruising and grazes ... I feel I won't be making too many public appearances in the near future.

Although, at least I feel I now have a water-tight excuse for not having done my work for my seminar tomorrow!
