Flight Advice Needed

Morning guys,

I was hoping you could offer us some advice. I am relocating to Canada in the summer with my 1 year old Siamese cat. I know how stressful this experience this is going to be for my cat and me but somehow we need to get through it.

The options and difficulties i am facing are:

To put my cat in storage or keep her in the cabin.
Whether or not to use sedatives to relieve her stress.

Now having done some research i have found that often cats put in the hold have a terrible time, sometimes getting lost, sometimes the temperatures are horrendious, sometimes they just get treated like a bag and are thrown about.

Elsewhere discussing taking a cat in the cabin i was torn apart by many people who are so allergic to cats that they said they could die if someone were to take a cat on board an 8 hour flight with them. Also my cat is not the quietest of cats and would be the equivilent to a screaming baby the whole trip.

Finally with the sedatives some people have said they can have unpredictable effects at altitude and not to use them.

Please, please can you share your experiences with me and offer any advise on how to deal with this problem.

Thanks,

Leigh
