Thanks for your information; i shall remember the salfasalazine(!) - he is eating egOrijen (which everone seems to rave about as it has no grain or cereal but 70% high protein and 30% veg - so am sure that this should suit him.

Vet will prob want to do expensive prescription diet but did read that these will contain cereals so have read elsewhere that not good.
