Quick update on Herbert for anyone interested! Vet has taken bloods and should get back to me on Monday, but he (dog not vet!) does have a temperature although no other particular signs of what's wrong. After a bill of £170  he seems to be a little better, whilst I feel a little sicker....breakthrough in the food dept. though as he wolfed down his first plate of solid food in nearly 10 days - well, almost solid - it was a pricey little tin of Hill's Scientific convalescent paste (mmm!) which lead to a bowl of fish and peas, so I think he may be recovering his appetite. Crossing fingers that the lab doesn't uncover anything serious.
