Re: cat trouble?need help?

Oh boy, do I know where you are coming from. My cats are pros at moving kittens....fix her a covered box ( I took a paper towel box (from the store) made a nice bed in it and placed it in my closet. Sure nuff....kitty moved her babies in there. Try and find a place like that ....nice and dark and secluded and let it be her idea to move them there. You will probably have to locate her in a bedroom with a closet door left open (box inside). Do not leave your bedframe under your mattress....she will almost certainly move her kittens there if she gets a chance. I had to remove my bed frame and put my mattress and box spring on the floor last week...I know it a pain but very necessary. Yes it can be the third day that they start moving unfortunately....sometimes they move the first day....depends on the cat. One of my queens actually bit her babies so bad while moving them that one died. She raised 4 out of 7. Two were just too tiny. She is due in June and I have my fingers crossed. One of my other mamas insisted that the closet was not good enough and moved her babies on top of the quilt box. I put them in a playpen....back up on the quilt box they went. I gave up, made them a bed up three and rolled sheets along the front to form an edge. I also placed blankets in front in case they fell. They are now 3 1/2 weeks old and are on the floor running around. By all means put her in a room where she cannot get out...preferebly by herself.
