hi,
i recognised the rankings yesterday, and i am looking at finding the original article from where they come from...(without luck so far)
what i remember though, is that they appeared in journal of American Animal Psychology a few years back (and the author is an esteemed animal psychologist)...
i also remember that the paper was somehow controversial...not that much for the breeds ranking as for the criteria used for the classification (as there are some different kinds of intelligence...and the author used only a limited subset of them)...
i'll keep looking, it has to be in my database somewhere...
i'll have to organise my sources sometimes...
