Re: Tala got out of her collar!!

Half chains are useless if you have a dog that is determined to get free. My dog quickly learned to pull forward it tightens to pull back it loosens. He pulled free on a busy main road. As awful as this sounds I grabbed his scruff, sorted it out and walked back home very shakey.

He can also escape from his harness but I'm one up on him now I don't allow him to pull backwards. I pull him from the side not straight as he ducks his head and literally walk out.

I prefer a harness because of his breed a SBT, I was worried he would choke himself on a collar, whereas if he pulls on a harness he is pulling against his chest. He is trained to walk to heel, I'm referring to when we started out.

I really think its personal choice and preference. I have heard halti's are good but I haven't used one.
