Sadie, simba and cj

Hi,

Im new here, i rescued my first cat Sadie from a shelter and a month later found out she was pregnant, before we knew she was pregnant we wanted to get her a friend and found a lady nearby who had kittens and fell in love with a little silver tabby boy.

After finding out sadie was pregnant we were very upset, as we payed £180.00 to the shelter as they said this covered her injections and that she was spayed. On the 4th april we had to take sadie to the vet as we noticed she was losing thick yellow discharge following a gush of water, took her to the vets where they did and ultrasound and an x-ray, to find she only had two very large kittens and one was stuck in the birth canal and was dead. Sadie had a c-section and was spayed at the same time and the vet managed to save the little black and white baby boy and a black boy. When we got them home later on that day they were very weak and we had to lift thier heads up on the mum so they can feed. After a very long night we sadly lost the black and white boy.

On the 10th we got our 8 week old kitten, we kept Sadie and her baby in our bedroom as we didnt want to upset her further. Later that night my daughter went into my bedroom and let sadie out, my partner and i were looking everywhere for her and couldnt find her, so i thought she must of got outside and started looking outside for her, then my partner found her in my sons room nursing our 8 week old kitten (simba)

Sadie is now nursing simba who is 9 weeks now and her baby kitten who is 2 weeks, we try to take him away from her but she meowing and wants to get to him, we even have tried shutting him out from Sadie but then again she constantly meowing and scratching at the door.

Should a 9 week old kitten still be nursing.
