This is a good thread and links in with my question about getting another kitten. I really don't want my 6 month old bot to be bored when me and my girldfriend are out at work.

Is there real proof that cats are better with companions? When I lived with my parents we only had one cat at a time and they seemed fine.

I guess an extra cat does not need too much extra effort does it?
