Re: Giving cats human names - silly or not?
Well our first cat Jessie was named after postman pats cat Jess, cos i was 7 or 8 when we got her and cos she's black and white, she reminded me of postman pats cat, so we were gonna call her jess, but decided on jessie, tho she replied to jess.....we also call her queen bitch and cracken haha
We had a ginger cat next which we called Toffee, cos he was ginger, like toffee coloured and such a sweet, lovable cat! But he got knocked down dec 97 at about 2 years old
Then we had a persian who we lost 18months ago, she was already named when we got her, she was called smokey
Then we got our next black and white cat, a male....in the rehoming center he was called Spratt, after Jack Spratt [sure you know the rhyme] but we decided shouting 'Spratt' was stupid, so called him Jack, suits him to a tee, he's jack spratt when naughty tho haha
Now are newest additions, named after british formula one racing drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton....they were named snuggles and smudge in the rehoming center, there was no way we'd call them that and cos the previous day jenson won the world championship it fitted and since lewis is the black and white cat, he got the name lewis as lewis hamilton is coloured
Also in the past we had a budgie called Piper [i dunno haha] gerbils which me and my sister gave a new name too every week, most memorable being Jason and Kylie haha and i got my sisters goldifsh Wotsit, named that cos when she won it at a fair like 3-4 years ago, people kept asking her 'whats its name?' which sounded like wotsit, so taadaa, also helps he's orange like a wotsit haha i dont have names for the minnoes in the tank as i cant tell the difference between them haha
I think, if your ok with standing at your door and calling fluffy, snuggles or any other cutsey baby silly names, then name them that, byt if you wouldnt be caught dead calling those names out, then name it something else
