I agree.

I hate it when other dogs come up. Staring and approaching is confrontational, and can put on lead dogs on the defensive.

Nothing worse than an offlead dog running up to mine, regardless of whether or not they come all the way. And then the other ignorant owner has the audacity to comment when mine growl in defense. Alfie is a fearful and anxious dog, and displays this by being vocal.
