Well I just take the tips of my girls every few weeks, I do have proper scissors but I generally just use me nail clippers as there on hand! I had a friend whose elderly cat stopped going out so much, consequently her claws grew, she didnt know about clipping and only reallised there was a problem when the cat couldnt walk. Her claws had grown into the pads and become infected.
