Yeah thats a very good sign that he is sucking like mad
try holding him up a bit so hes not having to reach. With my pups when I had a slow starter I held her up so she was tiring her self out trying to reach, held her there until she was full and she went to sleep
Yes I do agree about the money, obviously the people who sold her to you just wanted rid and didn't mind what happened to her in the future..
