Animals mourn too xx
Hello All xxx
Not sure if this is the right place to put this. I would like to share something with you.
I read a thread on here tlaking about animal emotions, how they are so similar to ours.
My mom died just over 10 years ago. We had a cat and dog. Harry (the cat) was very independent, didnt like being around people.
After mom died, mitzy (dog) sunk into depression....a year or so later she had to be put to sleep through illness. But she lived till a good age.
Anyway, on the day off the funeral, the car arrived outside with mom, there were a lots of people outside, something harry does not like.
I heard people saying who's is that cat?? when i looked it was harry, making a noise i had never heard before...he was ignoring everyone, just staring at the hearse. I tried to call him, but he didnt listen.
When the time came for them to put moms flowers in with her, they opened the back, and Harry tried to jump into the back.
I have no doubt, he knew it was mom, and the noise he made was him mourning.
When we returned sometime later, he was still at the same spot.
Years later, i had a surreal experience with harry - almost psychic, he became quite old....one day i was in the garden and he came up to me, and stared at me for a long while, i stroke him...and just got this over whelming feeling of greif....i know he was saying goodbye. He walked off, and although i hoped he would come back, deep down i knew he wouldnt.
We learn so much from animals dont we. Thanks for giving me somewhere to share xx
