I do worry about the £49 excess plus 35% of the claim... although, if I had a £1000 bill (fingers crossed I never see the day), I would only have to pay around £400. I suppose that is quite a lot, although... how often would I be landed with a £1000 bill?

Oh, I don't know His free Petplan insurance runs out tomorrow...
i personally would avoid ones with a percentage as you can get a similar quote without the percentage, and 35% is a lot even pet plan dont charge that until they are older pets although if you are not worried about paying a percentage have you looked at pet protect they are who my vet is promoting they do charge percentage but it goes up as your pet ages they told me it was no excess at all for the first year then between the ages of 1-5 it was £50 pound plus 15% between 6-9 it was £50 plus 20% and so on i cant remember the exact percentages as i deleted the email they sent, but their premiums were quite cheap i thought.
