That's a simular idea to what we are trying to do with the pups. When we are expecting guests we put them away in their "room" until they calm down and then put them back in before people leave. We are trying to make them see that it's not their concern who is coming into the house (that's Milo's job ).

It seems to be working slowly as they don't get over excited when seeing people come in anymore, although they still go mad once let out but they are slowly getting better.
