My cat's gone blind :-(

hi

was just looking for some help, advice, experiences etc...

we noticed on sunday that our cat Ronnie, was bumping into things so took him straight to the vets. they have confirmed that his retiners are detached due to high blood pressure. he's also had some blood tests done which i will get the results of this afternoon... the vet has given us some tablets to combat the high blood pressure and we've got to take him back next week to get him checked again to see if it's gone down.

he's an indoor cat anyway so don't need to worry about that and he's already ok with finding his food, water, litter tray and the radiators for his warm spots but i wanted to ask anyone who's been through this what the likehood is of him regaining his sight... the vet said that sometimes with the blood pressure medication the retiners can re-attach but not sure if she was just trying to sugar coat the news a little for us.

any response would be very much appreciated.

thanks

sarah
