While in many areas Freecyel is stil a good option the Derby area you are best trying derbyfreegle.

Most of the established larger Freecyle groups in the UK (over 200) left the Freecycle network and renamed themselves Freegle over the last month or so (the management style of their US based team was getting a bit hard to cope with) and established a new UK network called Freegle.

This means in a lot of towns and cities the main group is now Freegle and though replacement freecycle groups have been set up they are often now managed from the USA and have far fewer members and items offered than the corresponding Freegle Group.
