I disagree...I had a kitten approx 12 weeks old come to my back door crying. I let him in, fed him put a sign up in the shop window across the road. Let him stay with me the night and phoned cat protection the next day who came and collected him that evening. A couple of days later the owner rang me saying he had got out somehow and i gave them the number of cat protection to get him back.
Edited to say...On the sign i put up i only said kitten found. I never mentioned the sex or the colour or age.
