Like it was said I would look into cat trees. It would be beneficial for everyone.

Some really nice ones can be found here. However the cheaper ones can work as well.
Like Chinablue said I would try Cat Attract Litter as well. It can be found at most pet stores. Here's a little bit of info on it.

I am not familiar with Nature's Miracle but as long as it has enzymes and no ammonia in it you should be fine. Vinegar and water can also be a safe alternative.

Da Bird is an excellent toy. I would also try the cat dancer and cat charmer.

BTW does Max have a good scratching post?
