Just wondered what's the best things to use when trimming a kittens/ cats claws? Whilst at the vets the other day, we mentioned that we thought Rio's claws were getting a little long (and very very sharp!!) but she said not to worry as they were fine & leave it a while before doing anything. However, this morning he got one of his claws caught in a toy & was shaking it around, trying to get it of & after a bit of difficulty, I managed to prise it off.

I've seen various kinds of cutters such as scissors & guillotine type things, just didn't know which to chose? and also, how far down do you cut the nails? is it just literally the pointed bit? I've heard that they have nerves in them....I don't want to hurt him!!
