If the dog has been an outside dog, they have not learnt to hold themselves like a normal fully grown adult, they are used to going where and when they want, and being adult it is more ingrained and harder to train them out of it, so no matter what she does it will be "double the work" The main thing is that she needs to teach the dog that toilet and bed are not the same. Then she can work on proper house training procedures. I had exactly the same problem with Tilly, and she was 10 months when I got her, so younger.

my dogs were toileting in their bed too... dogs do it for different reasons but i still wouldnt advice to teach the dog to do it inside as it is VERY confusing for the dog as it is, rather than teaching one thing and then suddenly changing it to teach another after a time.... but its up to the OP what they think its the better way of doing it
