Re: newbie a bit confused
Is she registered with the GCCF?
You can show her at any All Breed Show run by area Cat Clubs, or her breed/breed type specific clubs.
Under the GCCF you have the open class, which will be in the Persian Section called "Chinchilla Kitten". In that class she will be judged against all the other female chinchilla kittens present.
The entry fee for the show usually includes the cost of your open class, and 3 other miscellaneous classes. There are sets of miscellaneous classes for each section and in those classes they compete against any other kitten in the section male female, different colours etc that fullfil the criteria for the class. These classes and criteria differ very slightly per show, but the definition for each class is always explained in the schedule.
For example :
Persian Self Breeders Kitten for any colour self coloured persian kittens bred by the exhibitor
A.C. Persian Non-Self Breeders Kitten for any colour non self coloured persian kittens bred by the exhibitor
A.C. Persian Kitten not bred by Exhibitor for any colour persian kitten not bred by the Exhibitor
A.C. Persian Kitten - as it says
A.C. Persian Debutante Kitten for any colour Persian kitten that hasnever been shown at a show held under GCCF Rules
A.C. Persian Novice Kitten - Any colour Persian kitten that has not won a First Prize in any class at a show held under GCCF Rules
A.C. Persian Maiden Kitten - Any colour Persian kitten that has not won a First, Second or Third Prize in any class at a show held under GCCF Rules
A.C. Persian Limit Kitten - Any colour Persian kitten that have not won more than four First Prizes in any class at a show held under GCCF Rules
A.C. Persian Radius (within 25 miles) Kitten - Any colour Persian kitten living within 25 miles of the show hall
A.C. Persian Visitors (more than 25 miles) Kitten - Any colour Persian kitten living more than 25 miles from the show hall.
You would then chose 3 or more of those (any number over the 3 you pay for as additional classes). If you choose classes judged by different judges then you get to know what different judges think of your kitten, which is handy for future shows.
You can also enter shows run by different registries like TICA or Felis Britannica.
If she is TICA registered or FIFE registered then you can not show under the GCCF.
I hope that hasn't confused you more.
