A bit like coldsores in humans! I know this because im going through the same thing. Eric had cat flu at 7 weeks when we got him and he still has it now (6 months) we too have spent hundreds on trips to the vet. Also the insurance will only cover a new condition so unless you/your vet can prove that the flu is a different virus then they will be unlikely to ever cover your little one for cat - flu related sickness.... it's harsh but true, i just think you need to be prepared.

The best insurance for us has been direct line- they pay the vet directly so you dont have to find the money to start with xx
