I can't believe the PDSA said that to you,

I take Meeka to our local PDSA and they are fantastic, everytime I go there they are always dealing with "new" clients who's pets are poorly and as long as you qualify and are willing to give a donation then they ask the people to take a seat and they will inform the vets and sqeeze them in.

I would do what kittykat said and phone the head office because it just doesn't sound like them.
