I'm looking for advice, as the title states my 6 year old boxer has started pulling up my landing carpet whilst me and my partner are at work. Whilst we are out we lock the bedroom doors and living room door, in order to keep her from furniture and beds. The dog has the run of the landing, (where her beds are kept) stairs and kitchen.

She digs at the carpet in an effort to get into our bedroom, (she sleeps in this room, on her own beds at night, but during day the beds are put onto landing) This has only happened 4 days ago, but she has done it every morning since, (one of us come home at dinnertime to let her out etc)

we moved house last may, to our current house, and she quickly worked out how to move the door handles down, having a preference for the main bedroom, I changed the handles about six months ago to prevent her getting into the room, this worked but she's gradually scratched the door, now I suspect that she believes by digging up the carpet near the door she will get in the room.

Is there any ways of stopping this behaviour.

She does this whilst we are out.

My wife is also in the early stages of pregnancy, I've heard some dogs do strange things when owners are pregnant.
