It sounds very much like a viral problem (maybe cat flu) which is causing problems to keep recurring. A weak immune system in kittens / cats can be boosted by giving them L-Lysene at 500mg a day, ground into a powder and divided by sprinkling on meals twice a day.

I have used this with very good effect on my kitten which had cat flu symptoms, and bought mine on line from Natures Best.

Also feed good quality food (high meat content such as Hi-Life set food, which is 60% meat). A gradual changeover by mixing usual cat food with new cat food over a few days will be needed to prevent tummy upset.

Obviously, a vets visit is needed to rule out any other problems, but if vet feels a virus is the cause then I would definately give L-Lysene a go for about a month to see a general improvement in health.
