But anyway, no way will I let him take his choice to be sniffed! Being as I have been so fussy about the puppy buyers, do I have the same rights to do this with 'dog man' as I don't know where he lives - just his number??
You have the same rights with this man as you have with all your other prospective buyers. The mum and the puppies are your property, not his, and you have the right to do whatever you want to do. Do not let him browbeat you. If there was no arrangement about stud fees, or a puppy in lieu of stud fees, then I would be telling this guy to get lost, quite frankly! He does not sound like the kind of person you want to sell your puppies to - anyone who is proposing to do what he wants does not know much about puppies. He certainly wouldn't get his pick of the litter. Even if he had been a decent prospective owner, and no arrangement had been made re stud fees, then I would probably be telling him that he could have a puppy of my choosing (not his) at a reduced price.

How did the accidental mating actually take place? Sorry, I do tend to be very nosy!
