Re: Basic rules for feeding raw combined with good quality commercial please
I find reading some post's about feeding raw etc very worrying at times.
I think if someone is concidering feeding raw they should really go on a raw diet/recipe link & do some homework, before feeding.
There seem's to be too much guessing going on.
Also, some think mixing a couple of bit's of raw meat together makes a complete raw diet. It also needs minerals/vitamins/oils etc.
Then they read ..it needs this & that...they don't look into amounts...then find out...too much of this to lil of that, so it turns into guess work.
I wish they would go onto a raw diet site, Feline instinct's Tc, or others available out there, follow that recipe. (even if you don't want to buy the product, the info is there).
They also give guide lines on raw feeding, without you buying the mix they sell. They give info on why & what is necessary.
Feeding raw meat, then adding a of pouch of food, may not give the ballanced nutrients needed in the diet. Just because the feeder is not sure what is needed.
Do some homework don't guess, someone saying this is good for cat's to eat or good for them on a post is not enough. Find out why, what amount, etc. Don't just take as read from bit's here & there.
