Re: Raw diet from the butcher

I tend to feed the kittens and dog all 3... dry wet and raw, just not at the same meal, and usually not on the same day (this is practical for me as we don't currently have a freezer so raw food has to be used as soon as it's defrosted or if fresh on the day of purchase). I've always done this with my pets... Any opinions on this practice? Would anybody know if I should supplement the kittens raw diet with taurine seeing as they have complete wet and dry (varied) as approx 65% of their diet?

The great thing about buying from your local butcher or fishmonger is that it's one of the most ethical ways you can feed your animals - firstly you're supporting your local traders (rather than getting produce shipped from Thailand or some other distant country) and secondly you're NOT supporting huge corporations who continue to test on animals (Many popular pet foods are listed on the list to boycott here Uncaged Campaigns: Pet food and animal testing .. unfortunately including some old faves of mine namely chappie, technical, iams & James NotSoWellbeloved)
