People used to say, solid white Akita's are worth more than any other, that's nonsense, i could guarantee at least 2 white pups from a litter any time.
For me they are sold for the same price, why because i aint jumping on "the colour determins the price" band waggon...
Any way blue is a dilute black, and i much prefer reds...

It should be quality that counts not colour,sam why don't we see Blues in the ring?
And it's not because they are rare,it's because they are usually badly bred,resemble nothing like the breed,and have pigmentation faults,such as grey noses,light eyes etc......
