We have a four year old cat (Otto) and we are getting a puppy in the New Year so I was having the same kind of anxieties!
Otto has a cat flap in the extension part of our house and this is also where he sleeps at night. His food however, is in the kitchen which is where the puppy will sleep eventually I think. We can shut the door on the extension so that Otto feels safe at night when we're not around, but should I move his food in to the extension now so that he is used to having it in there rather than move it when the puppy arrives? It also means he won't have to eat close to where the puppy sleeps - does this sound OK for starters?
Not done this before so any help gratefully received!
P.S. Great idea re the rescue remedy - will def give that a go.
