I was in a similar position, I our family two dogs that adored each other, and I was getting married and moving to my new home, one of the dogs was mine although all the family treated the dog as theirs, anyway I was going to take my dog with me, but it would have been difficult seperating the two, so my mum happily agreed to keep both dogs, a couple of years later my mums dog passed away, so I brought my dog to live with me and he stayed til he was 15 years old
