what is happening to my cat?

I have a 15 year old cat, who does often go into very deep sleeps, but on sat, in one of her deep sleeps, she started howling, weeing, opened her bowels and seemed to be in terrible pain. we put her on a blanket on the floor and thought her time had come. Her body seemed to be all contorted and eventually when it passed, she lay lifeless ( we actually thought she,d passed away) for few mins then started to come round. About 30 mins later she got up, then went and ate as though nothing had happened. Was hoping it was a one off, but same thing happened again last night. Its horrendous to witness and i dont want her to have any more. I,m assuming i will probably have to have her put to sleep, but yet once she,s got over it, she's the same as usual. Has anyone experienced anything like this. I cant see that its a seizure because her body seems too rigid.

Thanks for any advice
