I give mine a complete dry food on it's own so they can't be fussy
When they were small I would soak it so it was easier to eat then gradually put less water as they got older so they ate dry.
They did go through a fussy stage and I would add a spponful of wet and mix it in well, just enough to smell good not enough to pick out.
