Re: Constipation on raw diet

Ambercat, I knew I had checked Lily's Kitchen cat food ingredients thoroughly before I started to feed it to my kits (who WOLF it down..) and couldn't understand how I could have got it so wrong, when I took a quick recheck of their website this morning. It's misleading, as it cites brown rice amongst the general ingredients, not sure if it's the dog food contains the rice, but here is the full list of ingredients for the cat chicken dinner (the lamb is also grain and carb-free):
Organic meat minimum 60% - Organic Chicken (30%), Organic Beef (15%), Organic Turkey (10%), Organic Pork (5%), Organic Carrots 4%, Organic Dandelion, Organic Nettle, Organic Spirulina, Carageenan, Taurine, Minerals, Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol) 20mg/kg. By using the highest quality raw material this meal provides just the right amount of Vitamin A and D3 your cat needs.
Nutritional Breakdown:
Typical values per 100g
Protein 10%
Fat 5.5%
Fibre 0.3%
Ash 2%
Moisture 82%
Grain-free.
Certified Organic and Holistic.

It really is pretty good food - maybe there is a question mark over the use of Carageenan, and I already mailed them about that, but they use tiny amounts, and it is all triple checked by a certified food inspector.
