I actually found the opposite with my dog. At home he eyeballs other dogs & will lunge if dogs get too close. Yes, he does get excited at agility, but he more or less ignores the other dogs, all he wants to do is have his turn. He watches other dogs compete & gets really excited about it, but again, he just wants to do it! Perhaps I am lucky as he has never left me while we are practising or competing, his love of agility seems to take his mind off other dogs. I also found that the more shows I went too, the better he became with other dogs. He doesn't eyeball at all at shows, I think it's the number of dogs around that has something to do with it.
