Re: Dog Food Help Please
Hi you could be making her more fussy by changing her food so much a hungry dog will eat no matter what adding to a complete food tips the ballance of protien and can cause problems with digestion and also could make the pup hyper . At 3 months she is too young for an adult food , puppy food is higher in callories to support their growth needs . As she has bone trouble you could do with a food with added glucasamine or buy glucasamine and give her it in tablet form , we give our 12 month old Labs this from a vit supply place calles simply supplements you can order on line its cheeper that the pet version and exactly the same check with your vet as to the amount ours have 1000 mg a day one tablet in the food . We found a good food called Pero they have a web site to order from we get the one for Labs as it has less fat added glucasamine and is based on salmon and brown rice , i asked for samples and the lady was more than happy to send some in little takeaway tins lol they are based in Wales , they do other foods to and a puppy food they only use chicken that is grade A and fit for human consumption in there foods that contain chicken , they also do organic , and as far as im aware they dont use any of the nasty preservatives known to cause problems . Try not to add anything to your girls food she will eat when hungry . you could try softening it with water 10 mins before feeding but i wouldnt advise adding lots of things just to get her to eat . If her condition is bothering her and she is pain it may be putting her off her food , be patient and dont panic a dog wont starve its self .
